Bio

Melody Wong, an ITE graduate in Filmmaking ​(Cinematography), is now studying Screen Media at NAFA. She ​aims to become an Art Director and/or Director. Her Final Year ​Project, "Lifeline," featured at Singapore's Mental Health Film ​Festival 2022.

My approach

I’ve always enjoyed watching films, from documentaries to ​movies, and even keeping a digital diary. In the films I work on, I ​aim to reflect my experiences and the stories I've gathered. ​Sometimes, it's about connecting with audiences, and other times, ​just having fun!

Cooking mama

This documentary explores the life of a ​mother with a deep passion for cooking ​and baking. It goes beyond her culinary ​skills to reveal her personal story and the ​struggles she has faced.

play date

In this psychological drama (short film), ​Irene is haunted by memories of her late ​lover, Levi, but soon discovers the ​unsettling side of her potential new ​partner, Fred.

animal therapy and the boy

In this short film, Johnny, who suffers ​abuse from his mother, turns to "animal ​therapy" for solace. However, the ​therapy takes a dark and gruesome turn.

2022-present

Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts ​(NAFA)

Currently pursuing a Diploma in Screen ​Media, I've directed two short films and ​one documentary. I am also gaining hands-​on experience as a producer intern with ​OneDash 22, where I'm involved in various ​aspects of film production.

2017-2019

Institute of Technical Education ​(ITE)

Completed a Nitec course in Applied ​Health Science with a specialization in ​Opticianry, including a 6-month ​internship that provided hands-on ​experience and a solid foundation in ​optical health.

2019-2021

Graduated from Higher Nitec in ​Filmmaking (Cinematography). Art ​Directed "Lifeline," featured at ​Singapore's Mental Health Film Festival ​2022. Interned at Ochre Pictures, working ​on "Travelogue" and "Mind Jumper."
